Courts

Whether you’re a beginner who never picked up a racquet or a tournament player, you can enjoy time on the courts at our clubs. Tennis is a great workout and provides health benefits including improved balance, coordination, reaction times and agility; increased bone density and decreased risk of cardio vascular disease; and reduced stress.

Longview offers a variety of activities that are fun and social, while also promoting competitive play through USTA men’s and women’s leagues, ladies interclub, men’s and mixed round robins and annual Club championships. We also provide a first class instruction program, Charlotte Tennis Academy, with clinics for all ages and ability levels.

Our Junior Program is the area’s best with year-round instruction. Our mission is to “develop the growth of tennis” throughout the Greater Charlotte community.

Lessons

Whether you’re a beginner who has never picked up a racquet or you’re a tournament pro, Charlotte offers a tennis program for everyone. Private lessons are available, as well as group tennis clinics and summer camps for kids. Adults can participate in USTA adult leagues and challenge ladders, or take lessons from a local PlayYourCourt pro. Some of the renowned country clubs of North Carolina also offer these lessons.

Lessons can be taken individually or as a group, with the pro choosing the time, frequency and participants. Groups can include 2, 3 or 4 players sharing the same pro. Lessons are customized based on your level of play. Life Time also hosts mixers and tournaments throughout the year for its members to get out on the courts and compete with other community players. This is a great way to meet new people while having fun playing tennis.

Leagues

A variety of fun, flexible leagues are offered to match players with other members at their level. These matches are played on the schedule you and your opponent choose, and you earn points each week that contribute to your overall season standing. The top teams compete in a city-wide playoff tournament.

Thousands of players participate in these seasons, which last for 8-10 weeks and feature five challenge matches. There are also four seasons of team leagues, where members are drafted onto teams and play for both fun and bragging rights. These programs are designed to help players meet and socialize with other tennis enthusiasts, while introducing them to structured competition. These programs include annual Club championships, round robins and more.

Socials

Enjoy friendly competition and meet new friends in a variety of social club events and leagues. USTA men’s and ladies leagues, interclub tournaments, annual Club championships, round robins and other fun activities are just some of the options offered for all ages and abilities.

Learn to improve your serve—arguably the most difficult shot in tennis. This three-hour stroke clinic will teach you how to get more power, consistency and accuracy on every serve.

Charlotte Tennis Academy offers a first-class instruction program with lessons, camps and clinics for juniors of all ages and ability levels. From beginner to elite, the Academy helps players develop a strong foundation of fundamentals that will last a lifetime. Juniors are encouraged to participate in private and group lessons, summer and winter leagues and tournaments.
