Why is EDEA so Special?

The form of the skating boot provides the foot with superior lateral support and sheer strength, which helps to safeguard the ankle. For most models, it also allows the tongue to be bent and protects the sides of the Boot from creasing. EDEA Skates provide secure foot support that gives th

The market's lightest skating boot is the EDEA ice fly boot, marking a significant advancement in skating technology and an ultra-modern design for competitive skaters. Every performance gains grace and elegance thanks to the flexibility of the Boot.

Ultra Light-Weight

The new materials and technologies employed in the Skates make EDEA lighter than any other figure skating boot. EDEA Skates are up to 50% lighter than typical high-strength boots and 20% to 32% lighter than other manufacturers' soft boots. Consider the additional time in the air to finish or lengthen your spins. The Skater can also accelerate more quickly with their free leg on jumps.

Thin Sole

The Skating Boot's Footbed, an EDEA-molded structure made of nylon fibre glass and placed into a relatively straightforward sole, serves various purposes. The foot can stand on the Footbed since it is smooth, well-shaped, and balanced. Materials that wrap around the foot and adhere to the Footbed's underside make up the Boot's upper portion. Because of this, the layer used to cover the foundation is relatively thin, giving the Boot a distinct appearance. The wrapped sides of the Boot construction house the Footbed. The Footbed has almost no rotational torque, but it does enable the Skater to appropriately flex the rear of the ball of the foot to accommodate the various shapes of the Ice Blade. In the engineered honeycomb area near the ball of the foot, the Footbed provides a minimal degree of vertical compression, which is excellent for landing jumps and offers comfort when wearing your Skates for extended periods. This honeycomb region provides superior ventilation and channels for air to circulate under the foot to keep the feet dry and cool while rolling. For mounting your Blades on Ice, the Footbed offers a waterproof solution.

Lower Center of Gravity

The EDEA moulded nylon fibreglass Footbed is thinner than a typical thick leather sole, resulting in a lower Center of Gravity and more Control for the Skater. This lower Center of Gravity results in excellent stability, quicker edge changes, and more sensitivity to the skating surface. Particularly in footwork, the quickness supplied by edge shifts and the secure feeling offered by deep Dance edges is noteworthy. When landing after jumps, the added strength is particularly significant since it may prevent the Skater from falling.

Size Consistency

The Boot is a constant for Rollers. Since the Footbed is moulded, there is a perfect match between our sizing and its contour. With certainty, use the Chart to determine the size of the ICE Blade that will fit your EDEA Skates. The type of skating and the balance between the levels of stability and manoeuvrability, which are directly influenced by the positioning or location of the front axle, are other factors that affect frame size, even if the Chart is a great resource.

Feeling of Control

Thanks to EDEA, you will notice a significant change when your boots are on. You'll see immediately that your foot controls the Boot and the ice or roller skate underneath it. One crucial difference is that the skate will feel secure without you having to lace the boot extra securely at the top. Your foot shouldn't move around inside the skating boot when properly fitted. The top can be more open and offers a lovely feeling due to the freedom of movement that emerges from the excellent foot control experienced by skaters using EDEA Skates.

Deeper Edge Leans

The Footbed's tapered design and rounded bottom edges enable ICE skaters to execute significantly deeper edge leans than most classic skating boots would be achievable. Sometimes a shorter Blade is needed than with less tapered traditional leather skating boots because of the curvature of EDEA Skates.

Heel Radius with a Large Radius

Allows for a significantly wider distribution of weight and torsion and offers 50% more surface area in touch with the Footbed's sole, increasing stability. Although the EDEA Skates' Heels are interlocked to the Footbed's sole and cannot be removed, EDEA has incorporated heel screws for increased security. A heel should never come free, according to EDEA.

Waterproof Sole

The EDEA Footbed soles are waterproof, as opposed to leather soles that take in moisture, become water-soaked, cause the screws to fall out, and let the blades sink into the sole. The sole material underneath the EDEA Footbed is rubber and other waterproof synthetic materials. It indicates that the Blades and Boots do not require snow sealing. Most Blades can be correctly moulded by the Honeycomb sole of the EDEA Footbed without the Blade or the Boot being overly stressed.

A thermoformable polymer creates the Skating Boot's structure and shape. The anatomic shape, particularly around the ankle, ensures a great fit without producing pressure points. Without limiting the necessary range of motion, the interior padding is made to offer excellent comfort. EDEA's Heel Pocket is renowned for its superb fit and for firmly securing the foot, even when leaping.

Outstanding Roller Ventilation

The Footbed's honeycomb design offers excellent ventilation for rollers and pathways for air to flow beneath the foot to keep the feet dry and cool. Some models employ indirect ventilation, while others use direct ventilation, depending on the various models.

Opening the outside vents under the Boot's Heel allows fresh air to flow through and into the Boot's front, providing indirect ventilation. Some Roller versions employ direct ventilation. On the bottom, the Footbed is wholly vented. Additionally, the tongue and upper boot portions have ventilation.

Heat Shapeable

The majority of EDEA Ice Boots come in 4 distinct widths. The Shoe Last that EDEA has created and used to construct its boots fits many, if not most, skaters quite well and doesn't require any adjustments. However, ALL EDEA boots can have their shapes and widths altered thanks to the thermoformable material utilized in the framework of the Boot. Further alterations can be made to the Boot to make it Custom Shaped, like tightening or opening the heels. The Boot will hold its shape once it has been determined unless it is modified again. Along with the numerous various forms that feet can take, shaping can be done to accommodate square toes, hammer toes, bunions, high or low arches, small heels, and super narrow Achilles tendons.

Final Thoughts

The Skating Boot's shape gives the foot excellent lateral support and sheer strength that helps to protect the ankle. On the majority of models, it also prevents the sides of the Boot from creasing and permits the tongue to be bent. EDEA Skates support the Skater's foot securely, allowing for a level of FREEDOM of Movement that has never before been possible.
