Top Tips For Playing Helltide Better In Diablo 4

Discover the ultimate Helltide Farming strategy in Diablo 4 with our tips and tricks .

In Diablo 4, Helltide is an open-world event that takes place through the dark realms of Sanctuary after you unlock World Tier 3 (Nightmare). Players can explore Helltide zones, defeat formidable enemies, and earn as many Aberrant Cinders as possible to open Tortured Gifts. This event is not only a test of strength and skill but also a way to get rare crafting materials, which are important for upgrading your characters! So this guide will show players some handy tips to help them easily play through it!

Avoid The Helltide Assassin

The Diablo 4 Helltide Assassin is a boss that roams around during Helltide Events. This foe has some devastating abilities that can be very punishing if you're caught unaware or unprepared. The Helltide Assassin takes way too long to fight and doesn't offer nearly enough Aberrant Cinders or items when it finally drops, so unless you're at a high enough level and can easily take it out, it will be a waste of time.

Target Elite Enemies

If you spot an Elite enemy while wandering through the Helltide area, make a beeline for it. Although Elite enemies are more challenging, especially if you end up in the middle of a swarm, the sheer amount of Aberrant Cinders they drop is worth it. Elite enemies make farming Aberrant Cinders less of a tedious process, and if you prioritize hunting them down over stopping for every small group that crosses your path, you're likely to get at least enough Aberrant Cinders for one or two Tortured Chests.

Stay Healthy

It's a lot harder during Helltide than you might think, so your health quickly decreases during combat. This means keeping your health at maximum to avoid dying is essential. The healing potions may be the most essential thing to prevent you from dying and decreasing your health. These consumables instantly restore you to full health upon use. You can find healing potions by looting enemies or containers or using Diablo 4 gold to buy them from the vendor.

Spend Your Aberrant Cinders

Aberrant Cinders can be spent exclusively on opening several different types of caches. These chests provide the most value in terms of rewards, dropping Uniques and multiple Legendaries in the Sacred and Ancestral tiers, Forgotten Souls, Fiend Roses, and other loot. Remember, you will lose half of your accumulated Aberrant Cinders every time you die. Additionally, they cannot be carried forward between Helltides and reset to zero at each event's conclusion. So spend them as soon as you have accrued your preferred Tortured Gift's value in Aberrant Cinders.

Use Your Horse To Get Around

You'll run into many enemies during Helltide, but not all of them will be worth it, or you need to get through to a World Event you've spotted. So don't hesitate to use your horse to dash around the map or teleport around. Your horse is also a great way to dash out of large groups if you get caught; you just need to make sure you're fast to activate the dash. Running around is a waste of your time when you have a horse at this point in the game unless you have great mobility aspects.

Only Grab Legendary Items

You should only pick up Legendary and Sacred D4 items because anything rare or common will just be a waste of inventory space and time. If your inventory fills up too fast, you'll have to make a pit stop in town to scrap it all at the Blacksmith or take too much time dumping it from your inventory stash. As such, it's best just to be careful with what you pick up in the first place and keep on top of your inventory management. That doesn't mean you can't go to town, but you really should try to keep those trips as short and as few as possible.

Play Both Offense And Defense

In Diablo 4, you'll need an equal balance of offense and defense to survive the Helltide. While building around a core damage-dealing ability is generally a good idea, you'll also want to toss in a few abilities and skills to reduce the amount of damage you take. In addition, level up your gear at the Blacksmith, ensure you have good Legendary aspects, the right gems in the right gear, and a good build so you don't die too often. If you don't have all these, you will struggle in Helltide, whether alone or with others.
